ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (EDP)

Entrepreneurship Development Programme was successfully organized as a regular training activity to cultivate qualities of youth by enlightening them on various aspects that are necessary to be considered while setting up Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The course contents of such Entrepreneurship Development Programmes are so designed as to provide useful information on product / process design, manufacturing practices involved, testing and quality control, selection and usage of appropriate machinery and equipments, project profile preparation, marketing avenues / techniques, product / service pricing, export opportunities, infrastructure facilities available, financial and financial institutions, cash flow, etc..,

NIFT-TEA Knitwear Fashion Institute, Tirupur have jointly organized with Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. It was a month free training programme “You can be an Entrepreneur” for SC youths. During the programme, Industrial Motivation Campaigns were organized to identify and motivate traditional / nontraditional entrepreneurs having potential for setting up MSEs so as to lead them towards self-employment.

In that programme, the trainees were divided into five groups and asked them to develop a model project. The group model projects were exhibited in the exhibition organized by NIFT-TEA. The dignitaries visited all the stalls and evaluated the projects based on the stall decoration, value of the project, trainee’s involvement and market potential. They purchased and gave order to the stall holders with the dummy currency given by EDI, Chennai. Finally, one group selected as a best project on the basis of the maximum currency collected by the stall holder.

Thiru. S. Asokan B.E. (Hons) M.Tech. F.I.E, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Tiruppur was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function, organized on 21.03.12 at NIFT-TEA. The function was presided over by Shri. Raja M.Shanmugham, Chairman of the Institute.  Others were also participated include Mr.K.Sridharan, Training Co-ordinator, EDI, Chennai, Mr.A.Harinarayanan, District Manager, TAHDCO, Tirupur, Dr.N.Gokarneshan, Principal, Prof. K.J. Sivagnanam, Vice-principal, Project Coordinators and other faculty members.
